Day 2-Stirling Castle

This is Stirling Castle.  Not a ruin.  The castle on day 1 was called a "ruin" this is called a "working castle".  Mary Stewart was crowned "Mary Queen of Scots" here in the chapel at just 9 months of age.

Son 2 getting dressed up in pre date medieval clothes.
Listening to a chambermaid tell stories about the royal way of life.  One of the jobs was to empty the "chamber pots".  Pee was reused for laundering clothes and tanning leather.  If you used it to sell it to the tannery to make your living you were considered "Piss Poor".  Also came the saying, "they are so poor they don't have pot to piss in."

Son 1 would love to own one of his very own of these.

This is the ceiling.  They are all made of wood.  All are important people of the time.  Not necessarily royalty.  One of them was Hercules and another was a poet.  These are amazing and gives appreciation for what was important to them at the time.
