Picture #1 is of son 1 in our "really big van" after we got off the plane.  It is super funny.  Vehicles are generally smaller in Europe.  A mini van is a big vehicle there.  So, to accommodate luggage and peeps we had a mini van booked at the rental place prior to our party of 6 downsizing to party of 4.  We just left it as is and took the van.  Son 1 was not impressed with the big van especially since the twins had a much smaller car.  Anyway, at one of the castles (Stirling) we were driving up to the car park and the others were already up there.  We parked and got out and they were laughing.  As we were driving up they heard on the parking attendants radio, "Really big van coming through, put him in the back."  They thought that was so funny!  I have to admit I did to.  Picture #2 is our first castle Dirleton Castle.  Very close to the town where we stayed.  One of my favs.  It is a great castle.  Picture #3 is the castle itself.  Or at least the stairs walking up to it.  It is quite a large castle with lovely gardens all around that are maintained in the way that they likely once were way back when.

Thanksgiving

It's Thanksgiving soon.  The acreage where I grew up some of my teen years was my favourite in the fall.  The big trees, big leaves, stubbly cut hay field, northern lights, the kids (toddler and babies then) frolicking around while turkey dinner was being cooked.  The house stood where the dirt is in the second picture.  The first picture is the driveway leading up to the house.  Good memories of living on an acreage and visiting as a wife and mom with my family.  It was always a different kind of "quiet" in the fall.

I missed my favorite day of the year this year.  Official Talk Like a Pirate Day.  September 19th.  How could I?  Arhgghhh Mateys!  You Scurvy Dogs.  And, I am not sure I like this new format on Blogger.  It's tricky.  I will need practice.  Oh, that's right, if I follow the challenge rules, especially #1 of Post Every Day in October....then I should get plenty of practice.

I got to admit Les, this is going to be a hard challenge for me, very hard.  Above photo's are the plane ride on the way to Scotland.  This is a good way for us to all share our vacation photo's, ya!!!!

Day 1........Late to the game, forgot about the challenge!  Ahhhhhh

Pretend this says Oct. 1

Mother's Day Funnies

Son 1 said, "Hurry, she wants coffee. Get her some coffee, quick. She wants to come downstairs."

Son 2 said, "Mom, when is it going to be kids day?" Like a good mother I said, "Every day is kids day buddy." "No, I mean when will it be kids day?" I resorted to, "I'm not sure buddy. I'll get back to you on that one."

It was a wonderful mother's day. We had homemade waffles(Jon made an Emeril recipe) on my new waffle iron, went for a bike ride, watched Cars, and raked/played in the yard. Thanks very much for a great day.
